No 162. Bourne End Rail Bridge

This bridge has a headroom of 15’6” and carries a branch of what was once the Great Western Railway(GWR) across the river through Bourne End to the terminus at Marlow.   The line finishes very close to the Prime Minister’s official country residence at Chequers and was no doubt used by many famous politicians in the past.   The river at this point is very wide and slow moving and there are many picturesque (and expensive) houses with grounds fronting on the river.
