No 194. Osney Road & Rail Bridge

This bridge with a headroom of 11’8” Carries the line across a very attractive part of the river and towpath at Oxford.   This section is much used by walkers and can be very busy at times with many differing types of boat passing by on the river.   Just above the bridge is a memorial to Edgar Wilson who drowned saving the lives of two young boys on 15 June 1889. The view is from upstream of the bridge.
